Constitution

Jim believes that the constitution was written to be understood by the masses. It is a simple, but elegant document that is short enough for the average citizen to read and understand in one sitting. Many, if not most, of our country's problems would be resolved if we simply returned to the Constitutional limits on federal power. Unfortunately, too many lawyers are now trained to start with their desired outcome and then to twist the words to meet their purpose. And many of the Supreme Court justices have relished the role of making their opinions the law of the land.

For every legislative bill that he votes for, Jim promises to explain why he believes the bill is constitutional.
